What is Usg Guided Biopsy?

USG guided biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure in which ultrasound is used to locate a lesion and guide a needle to obtain tissue for histopathology.

PROCEDURE TECHNIQUE: STEP BY STEP

01. Patient Preparation

Explain procedure and take consent.Check coagulation profile.Patient in comfortable supine/prone/lateral position.

02. Ultrasound Evaluation

Scan to locate the lesion.Choose the safest needle path avoiding vessels & organs.

04.Needle Insertion under USG

Introduce the biopsy needle in real-time USG guidance.Advance carefully into the lesion

05. Tissue Sampling

Obtain tissue using core biopsy needle or FNAC needle.Multiple samples if required.

06.Post Biopsy Care

Withdraw needle.Apply pressure.Observe patient for 2–4 hours (as needed).Advise rest and follow-up.
